Catherine Brown, M.Sc.

Leading science mobilization and sharing enthusiasm for scientific information.
Catherine (she/they) joined DUC in 2020 and transitioned to IWWR in 2023. Their academic background focused on wetland hydrology and greenhouse gasses. Since 2017, Catherine has been directly employed in positions that emphasize mobilizing scientific research to a wide range of audiences. Most recently, she has been actively engaged in building and maintaining respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and braiding Traditional Ecological Knowledge into projects. Within IWWR, Catherine is the key point for science support and works closely with DUC staff to make scientific results accessible, develop recommendations and supporting material, and present scientific findings to various audiences. Catherine’s specialty is public speaking (in both French and English) and sharing her enthusiasm for scientific topics.
